Individual Development Plan

Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a tool designed to help support and plan career development opportunities. Our Training Program formulated our own IDP in 2013 for the benefit of Program Trainees. Components of our IDP include self-assessment, setting goals in research and career development, time management, career exploration, and implementing the IDP.

Program Trainees complete their IDP every year and discuss their plan annually with their mentor and one of the Program Executive Committee members. Our Training Program reports the use of IDPs to NIH through Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) on an annual basis in November.
